RunOnVPS sizing suggestion

Suggested VPS tier

4 GB RAM tier

This is our sizing suggestion, derived from Portainer’s recommended RAM of 4GB. It is not an official requirement and it does not guarantee that every workload, plug-in set or media library will fit comfortably.

Important notes

Stars/license checked 2026-10-24 (repo license is zlib). Official docs do not publish a RAM/CPU minimum for the Portainer Server container itself (docs only require a Docker host and persistent storage; DreamHost's summary of the docs confirms no RAM minimum is published) — min 配置为基于其单容器默认部署的估算. rec_ram/rec_cpu are Portainer's official architecture deployment reference sizing for a small deployment (up to ~20 clusters / ~100 users: 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 10 GB storage), well above single-host homelab needs. Portainer itself runs as a Docker container.
